Former Georgia news anchor Carol Sbarge rescued after falling into a ravine during a hike.

Carol Sbarge, a retired Georgia news anchor who worked at WSB-TV for nearly 30 years, fell into a ravine while hiking in Chattahoochee National Forest in September. Her ankle broke in three places. Due to their remote location, they couldn't contact help until another hiker assisted. Emergency responders hiked two miles to reach her, using ropes and a helicopter for the first-ever aerial rescue at Panther Creek Falls. Sbarge was flown to a hospital where she received eight screws and a metal plate in her ankle.
