The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) fined three Indian coaching institutes a total of Rs 15 lakh for misleading advertisements about their success rates in civil services exams. Vajirao & Reddy Institute and StudyIQ IAS were each fined Rs 700,000, while Edge IAS was fined Rs 100,000. The CCPA found the institutes had concealed that most successful candidates had only enrolled in Interview Guidance Programs. The authority has issued 45 notices and collected Rs 71.6 lakh in penalties from 22 institutes for misleading ads.
