Archaeologists find 1,700-year-old Jewish lamp near Jerusalem, coinciding with Chanukah.
Archaeologists have unearthed a 1,700-year-old ceramic oil lamp near Jerusalem's Mount of Olives, featuring symbols of the Jewish Temple, including a menorah, incense shovel, and lulav. This rare "Beit Nattif" type lamp offers insight into Jewish life in the area during the 3rd to 5th centuries CE, a period with limited evidence of their presence. The discovery coincides with the Jewish festival of Chanukah.
