A tourist boat capsized off Goa's Calangute beach, resulting in one death and multiple rescues.
On Christmas Day, a tourist boat carrying around 20 passengers, including children and women, capsized off Calangute beach in North Goa, resulting in one fatality and multiple rescues. The incident occurred around 1:30 pm, about 60 meters from the shore. Drishti Marine, a government-appointed lifesaving agency, quickly responded and rescued the passengers. Among the rescued, two children and two women were hospitalized. This tragedy follows a Navy craft collision off Mumbai's coast last week, which killed 15 people. Authorities are investigating the cause of the capsizing, with concerns over the boat being overloaded.
