New Zealand teacher Bryony Edwards wins national teaching award, receives $5,000 grant.

Bryony Edwards, a photography and design teacher at John Paul College, has been awarded New Zealand's only secondary National Excellence in Teaching Award. Receiving her award in Melbourne, Edwards, who credits her mother for her teaching inspiration, was welcomed back with a traditional haka pōwhiri. She will use a $5,000 professional development grant to enhance her new role as head of visual arts at her school.
