A new advanced Chinese vessel joins international patrols on the Lancang-Mekong River to fight crime.

A new Chinese law enforcement vessel, No 53108, has joined the Lancang-Mekong River security mission as part of the 148th joint patrol by China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. This mission, initiated after a 2011 incident that killed 13 Chinese crew members, aims to combat transnational crimes like drug trafficking and smuggling. The new vessel is the most advanced and equipped to date, enhancing efforts to secure the river.
