India's first cable-stayed rail bridge completes trial run, set to link Kashmir Valley by January 2025.

India's first cable-stayed rail bridge, the Anji Khad Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, has successfully completed a trial run, marking a significant step towards connecting Kashmir Valley to the rest of the country via rail. The 473-meter bridge, second-highest in India, is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link project set to be completed by December 2024, with rail services expected to begin in January 2025. The project includes 38 tunnels and 927 bridges.
