Oklahoma is nearing its record for the most tornadoes in a year, with 148 reported so far, just one short of the 2019 record of 149. November saw an unprecedented 33 tornadoes, breaking the old record of 12 from 1958. April also set a record with 56 tornadoes. The state experienced its first violent tornadoes since 2016, including two EF-4 tornadoes, causing four deaths and 46 injuries. Experts advise having a severe weather safety plan and seeking shelter in safe rooms, storm shelters, or basements.
