Former identity thief Michael Anastasia sentenced to 2 years for stealing an identity and evading $1.1M in taxes.

A 69-year-old Oregon man, Michael David Anastasia, has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for using a stolen identity to open over 30 bank accounts and credit cards and for evading a $1.1 million tax debt. This follows his previous 2007 conviction for tax evasion. In addition to his prison term, he will serve three years of supervised release and must pay $777,899 in restitution to the identity theft victim.
