CPI(M) elects mostly new leaders in Tripura to rejuvenate ahead of 2025 Congress.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has elected 87% new faces as secretaries in Tripura's committees, aiming to rejuvenate its leadership ahead of its 24th Congress in April 2025. Party leader Prakash Karat will inaugurate the 24th Tripura State Conference on December 29th, where leaders will discuss the state’s political, social, and economic issues. The CPI(M) ruled Tripura for 35 years but lost to the BJP-IPFT coalition in 2018.
