California Highway Patrol intensifies patrols to curb drunk driving and speeding over Christmas.

The California Highway Patrol is implementing a Maximum Enforcement Period from 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve to 11:59 p.m. on Christmas Day to deter dangerous driving behaviors like drunk driving and speeding. Last year, this period saw 20 traffic fatalities and over 900 DUI arrests. The CHP aims to reduce incidents by increasing patrols and encouraging the public to report unsafe drivers.
