Ahmed al-Sharaa, Syria's new leader, announced that all weapons in the country, including those held by Kurdish forces, will come under state control. This comes two weeks after Sharaa seized power in a major offensive, supported by Turkey. Sharaa pledged to end "negative interference" in Lebanon and protect minorities, while Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called for lifting sanctions on Syria and aiding displaced people.
