Phillies acquire pitcher Jesús Luzardo from Marlins, boosting their rotation ahead of the 2025 season.

The Philadelphia Phillies traded for left-handed pitcher Jesús Luzardo from the Miami Marlins, acquiring him for prospects Starlyn Caba, Emaarion Boyd, and Paul McIntosh. Luzardo, 27, has a career 4.29 ERA and had a solid 2023 season with a 3.58 ERA but missed much of 2024 due to injury. The trade strengthens the Phillies' rotation, which includes Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Ranger Suarez, and Cristopher Sanchez. Luzardo is under team control for two more seasons.
