Archaeologists find evidence of a destroyed Hindu temple turned into an Islamic site in Sambhal, India.
An excavation in Sambhal, India, has uncovered evidence suggesting an ancient Hindu temple was destroyed and later turned into an Islamic structure, according to the Chief Priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.
The findings include a 400-square-meter stepwell and other artifacts.
The excavation began after a public meeting highlighted the site, and an ASI team also surveyed nearby temples and wells.
