IOC investigates claims that Albemarle bribed officials to secure contracts worth $11.14M.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is investigating claims that Albemarle Corporation bribed its officials between 2009 and 2011 to secure contracts worth about $11.14 million. Albemarle paid around $1.14 million in commissions to an Indian intermediary. The US Securities and Exchange Commission caught Albemarle for bribery in 2017, and the company settled by paying over $198 million in September 2023.
