India forms committee to assess Air Force needs amid concerns over fighter jet shortages.

India's Defence Ministry has formed a committee led by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh to assess the Indian Air Force's (IAF) capability development, focusing on indigenous design and acquisition. This follows concerns over China and Pakistan's growing air power and the IAF's shortage of fighter jets. The committee will evaluate the IAF's need for over 110 new fighter aircraft and aims to submit its report in two to three months.
