Doctors in Bangladesh protest for higher stipends, causing traffic disruptions in Dhaka.

Postgraduate trainee doctors in Dhaka, Bangladesh, are protesting at Shahbagh intersection, demanding their monthly stipend be doubled from Tk 25,000 to Tk 50,000. The protest caused traffic disruptions but was lifted after a university official promised their demands would be met soon. Doctors argue the current stipend does not cover rising living costs and have been advocating for this increase since 2022.
