Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has appointed Wendy Lisogar-Cocchia as the new lieutenant-governor of British Columbia, succeeding Janet Austin. Lisogar-Cocchia, a respected entrepreneur and community leader, is the founder of Absolute Spa Group and co-founder of the Pacific Autism Family Network. She has also served as the first female trustee of the Vancouver Police Foundation and received the Order of Canada and Order of B.C. Her role includes ceremonial duties and signing provincial bills into law.
