California Highway Patrol cracks down on dangerous driving with intense enforcement over Christmas.

The California Highway Patrol will conduct a "maximum enforcement period" from 6:01 p.m. on Christmas Eve to 11:59 p.m. on Christmas Day to deter dangerous driving behaviors such as drunk driving, speeding, and seat belt violations. Last year, over 900 DUI arrests were made during a similar period. The CHP emphasizes the importance of safe driving and asks the public to report unsafe drivers to 911.
