U.S. Steel reports Q4 loss, shares drop after hours despite analyst "Moderate Buy" rating.

United States Steel (X) provided Q4 earnings guidance, projecting a loss of $0.29 to $0.25 per share, worse than the expected $0.22. Despite this, shares rose midday to $31.72 but dropped 4.54% after hours. The company attributed the weak outlook to lower steel prices, higher costs, and weak demand in Europe. Analysts still rate the stock as a "Moderate Buy" with a target price of $42.80.
