Milwaukee's new $150M museum, inspired by Mill Bluff State Park, is under construction and set to open in 2027.

Construction on the Milwaukee Public Museum's new five-story building is progressing, with the foundation work completed and the structure rising at North 6th Street and West McKinley Avenue. Inspired by Wisconsin's Mill Bluff State Park, the new museum is set to open in early 2027 and will feature a versatile planetarium and a three-story parking structure. Mortenson, the construction company, is focusing on using local materials and suppliers for the $150 million project.
