Kansas City voters to decide in April if they'll extend a sales tax for public safety funding.

Kansas City, Missouri, voters will decide in April 2025 whether to renew a 0.25% sales tax for public safety. If approved, the tax will extend for 20 years, funding a new rehabilitation and detention center and supporting law enforcement and emergency services. Mayor Quinton Lucas says the investment is vital for community safety and addressing social issues.
