Indian unicorn companies saw a slight drop in employment but expect to reach over 300 by 2030.

Indian unicorn companies, valued at $1 billion or more, employed 4,10,829 people in August 2024, a slight decrease from 4,17,561 in August 2023, according to a PrivateCircle report. Despite the decline, hiring surged in March 2024, with 42,000 employees onboarded, while the highest number of departures (39,000) occurred in September 2023. India is expected to have over 300 unicorns by 2030, up from more than 100 currently.
