India raises Minimum Support Price for copra up to 121%, aiming to boost coconut farming.
The Indian government has significantly increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for copra to ₹11,582 for milling copra and ₹12,100 for ball copra per quintal for the 2025 season, marking up to a 121% increase from previous years.
This move, approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, aims to improve returns for coconut farmers and boost copra production to meet rising demand.
The procurement will be handled by NAFED and NCCF, with a budget outlay of ₹855 crore.
