French energy company ENGIE has proposed building an Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant in Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire, to convert agricultural waste into renewable gas.
The plant could power 5,200 homes and provide income for local farmers while supporting the UK's decarbonization goals.
If approved by the North Yorkshire Council early next year, construction could start by summer 2025.
