China and Laos inaugurate a massive solar project, promising clean energy for millions.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place for a 1-million-kilowatt photovoltaic project in northern Laos, backed by China's CGN and 70 other enterprises. This is Laos's first large-scale solar project, expected to generate 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours annually, enough for 10 million households. It will reduce coal use by 510,000 tonnes and boost local development through jobs and infrastructure.
