Vatican's blessing directive for same-sex couples has seen limited implementation in U.S. Catholic dioceses.

One year after the Vatican document "Fiducia Supplicans" allowed non-liturgical blessings for same-sex couples, its impact on the U.S. Catholic Church is minimal. Out of 177 Latin Rite dioceses surveyed, only 21 responded, with none reporting complaints or tracking blessings. Most dioceses, including San Francisco's, have imposed strict guidelines to avoid misunderstandings. Few reported instances of priests offering such blessings, and some faced issues with illegitimate requests.
