The UK plans to hire 450 new driving examiners to cut six-month wait times for tests to seven weeks by 2025.

The UK's Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) plans to recruit 450 new driving examiners to reduce long wait times for driving tests, which can currently span up to six months. The DVSA also aims to extend the cancellation period for tests from three to 10 working days and review current booking rules to prevent third-party exploitation. The goal is to reduce wait times to seven weeks by December 2025.
