Penobscot Community Health Care held a candlelight vigil in Bangor to honor those lost to homelessness.

Penobscot Community Health Care held its annual candlelight vigil in Bangor, Maine, on December 18, honoring lives lost to homelessness. About 50 people attended the event at Hope House, a 56-bed shelter that is currently full. The vigil remembered those who died, including Joseph P. Demanuele Jr., and aimed to raise awareness of the ongoing homelessness crisis. Bangor plans to close its largest homeless encampment by February 28, 2025.
