Older adults suffer greater financial losses from cybercrime, new UK study finds.

A UK study found that older adults, especially those aged 75 and over, suffer more severe financial losses from cybercrime despite being less frequent targets. Between April 2018 and March 2019, those aged 55 and older lost over £4 million to cyber fraud. Older adults are more likely to experience repeat attacks and may underreport incidents due to shame or fear. Researchers recommend initiatives to help older adults recognize and report cyber fraud.
