Comfort canine River, who helped reduce student stress at Michigan State University, has died.

Michigan State University (MSU) has mourned the loss of River, a comfort canine who passed away on Monday after a battle with hemangiosarcoma, a terminal cancer. River, known for his gentle demeanor, helped reduce stress among students and provided comfort across campus. The MSU Police and Public Safety department, where River worked with handler Lt. Kim Parviainen, described him as a cherished family member whose impact will be deeply missed.
