A 75-year-old school worker in Brooklyn was arrested for allegedly shoving a 14-year-old student with disabilities.
Luis Benalcazar, a 75-year-old employee at the Brooklyn Transition Center, a school for students with disabilities, was arrested on Monday for allegedly shoving a 14-year-old student.
Charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, Benalcazar has been suspended pending the outcome of the arrest.
If convicted, the New York City Department of Education plans to terminate his employment.
The school did not comment on the incident.
