The Supreme Court delays bail hearing for lawyer Surendra Gadling, accused in a mine arson case linked to Maoists.

The Supreme Court has postponed the bail hearing for lawyer Surendra Gadling, accused in the 2016 Surjagarh iron ore mine arson case, until January 2025. Gadling faces charges of aiding Maoist insurgents, including sharing secret information. His legal team requested more time to review the state's response to his bail application. Gadling is also linked to the Elgar Parishad-Maoist case, accused of inciting violence in Pune. He has been in jail for over five years.
