John Paul Marks, Scotland's top civil servant, will leave his role in 2025 to head HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). Marks, who has served as Permanent Secretary since 2022 and worked under three first ministers, will replace Sir Jim Harra, who steps down in April 2025.
