Romania invests €40 million in a new optics center for high-power lasers, enhancing tech and research.

Romania is investing 193 million lei (approximately €40 million) to build a new High Power Optics Center in Măgurele. Part of the ELI-NP research facility, the center will produce advanced optical components for high-power lasers used in various fields, including energy, medicine, and defense. The project, set to be completed in two years, will also collaborate with Japanese partners, aiming to boost Romania's technological advancement and international market opportunities in nuclear physics.
