MSRTC adds over 1,300 buses on Jan 1, 2025, to improve service and attract more passengers.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will add over 1,300 new buses to its fleet on January 1, 2025, to address long-standing shortages and improve service reliability. Approximately 450 of these buses will serve key routes like Mumbai-Pune. The initiative aims to attract more passengers by providing safer and more comfortable travel options and to help the financially struggling MSRTC become profitable again. The move is also intended to support lower-income groups who rely on affordable public transportation.
