Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has proposed a bill to combat urban Naxal activities, aiming to prevent unlawful acts by imposing jail terms and fines on offenders and authorizing authorities to seize assets. The bill, referred to a select committee, is expected to be debated in the upcoming monsoon session. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also vowed to eradicate Naxalism nationwide by March 2026.
