Great Smoky Mountains National Park's Laurel Falls Trail closes Jan 6, 2025, for 18 months of renovations.
The National Park Service will close Laurel Falls Trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park starting January 6, 2025, for 18 months for rehabilitation. The project aims to enhance safety and visitor experience by constructing new viewing platforms, repaving and widening the trail, installing new signs and educational panels, and adding 50 new parking spaces. The trail will reopen in June 2026.
