Amtrak has completed the removal of old piers from the Susquehanna River, a key step in replacing the 1906 Susquehanna River Bridge with new ones capable of supporting trains traveling up to 160 mph. The project in Havre de Grace and Perryville, Maryland, involves daily use by numerous Amtrak, MARC, and freight trains. The next phase of construction is scheduled to start in mid-to-late 2025.
