Sri Lankan President assures India of support, pledges no territory for against its security interests during visit.

During his three-day visit to India, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake assured Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Sri Lanka will not allow its territory to be used against India's security interests. This assurance addresses growing concerns over China's increasing influence in the region. The leaders agreed to enhance defense cooperation, strengthen energy ties, and boost economic support, including a proposal for electricity grid connectivity and petroleum pipelines. They also discussed the fishermen issue, aiming for a humanitarian approach. India pledged continued support for Sri Lanka's economic recovery.
