Restoration work begins on the Ratna Bhandar of the Jagannath Temple in Puri for the first time since 1975.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has started repair work on the Ratna Bhandar of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, marking the first such effort since 1975. Opened after 46 years in July, the restoration includes removing plasters, repairing cracks, and fixing damaged beams and flooring. The work, expected to take three months, will avoid Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays to minimize disruption to daily rituals and devotee access. No hidden tunnels were found during a recent survey.
