Qantas agrees to pay $120M to 1,800 wrongly dismissed workers, settling a long legal dispute.
Qantas will pay $120 million in compensation to over 1,800 former ground handlers who were wrongfully dismissed during the pandemic. The agreement comes after a long legal battle and includes apologies from Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson. The compensation, which will cover economic and non-economic losses, will be administered by Maurice Blackburn on behalf of the TWU. The fund is set to be established in early 2025.
