New Zealand ratifies an upgrade to the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area to boost trade with Southeast Asia.

New Zealand has ratified an upgrade to the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA) agreement, aiming to streamline trade processes and boost exports to Southeast Asia, where trade has doubled since 2010 to over $9 billion. The upgrade seeks to remove trade barriers and improve conditions for services and e-commerce. It will take effect after ratification by all involved parties, including four ASEAN countries, Australia, and New Zealand.
