Man sentenced to two years for $40k housing loan fraud in India, part of a larger scheme.

A man from Uttar Pradesh, Sardar Ahmad Khan, was sentenced to two years in prison and fined Rs 10,000 by a Lucknow court for obtaining a Rs 3.5 lakh housing loan through forged documents from the State Bank of India. This case is part of a larger fraud scheme alleged to have caused a loss of Rs 1.6 crore to the bank. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the case in 2005 based on a bank complaint.
