Qatar breaks ground on a new electric bus plant, aiming for 100% electric public buses by 2030.
Qatar's Minister of Transport laid the foundation for a new electric bus assembly plant in Um Alhoul Free Zone, a collaboration between Mowasalat, Yutong, and Qatar Free Zones Authority.
The plant, set to be completed by 2025, will produce EU-standard electric buses, with an initial capacity of 300 buses per year.
The project aims to support Qatar's goal of 100% electrification of its public bus fleet by 2030 and serve international markets in the MENA region and Europe.
