Paraglider crashes into powerlines, causing power outages; another has a rough landing on a beach.

On December 15, a paraglider narrowly escaped death after hitting powerlines at Stanwell Tops, causing 121 homes and businesses to lose power for almost two hours. The pilot managed to free themselves and landed with minor injuries. Later, a 62-year-old paraglider had a heavy landing on Stanwell Park Beach and was treated by paramedics before being taken to St. George Hospital.
