Pakistan's peace jirga in Kurram extends for 24 more hours to discuss ending violence.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in Pakistan has clarified that the ongoing peace jirga in Kurram, aimed at ending violence that has killed over 130 people and injured more than 180, is not over despite reports suggesting its end. Adviser Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif stated that the jirga needs an additional 24 hours for discussions on disarmament and bunker removal. The Chief Minister has also ordered the delivery of essential supplies, including 2,000 metric tons of wheat and medical supplies, to the affected area.
