The Nigerian government has renamed the University of Abuja to Yakubu Gowon University in honor of former military Head of State General Yakubu Gowon, marking his 90th birthday. El gobierno nigeriano ha renombrado la Universidad de Abuja a la Universidad Yakubu Gowon en honor al ex Jefe de Estado militar general Yakubu Gowon, con motivo de su 90 cumpleaños. The decision was made during a Federal Executive Council meeting and will be sent to the National Assembly for approval.
