Libyan farmer grows premium Moroccan date variety in humid region, aiming for international export.

Libyan farmer Ismail Ben Saoud is successfully growing Mejhoul dates, a premium variety from Morocco, on his farm in the humid coastal region of Misrata. Despite the challenging climate, the dates have exceeded expectations due to organic farming techniques. Ben Saoud aims to reach full production capacity in two years and eventually export to international markets. Libya, with over 10 million date palms, produces more than 50,000 tonnes of dates annually.
