Auckland businessman sentenced to 2 years for evading over $1M in taxes, buying luxury cars.

Auckland businessman Wai Kheong Kong was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison for tax evasion after pleading guilty to 16 charges. Kong evaded over $1 million in taxes over seven years and spent the money on luxury cars like a Porsche and a Bentley. He also failed to pass on $1.1 million in PAYE from workers' wages to the Inland Revenue. This is Kong's latest conviction for similar offenses.
